FAQ

Q: How long have you been working on Shaman?

A: I came up with the concept and some of the characters for Shaman about 5 years ago as a series of short stories. I started working on the idea of making Shaman as an RPG in December 2001 and seriously began working on it in July 2002.

Q: How do you do your game art?

A: Most of the art for Shaman is pixeled in Graphics Gale a nice shareware animation program, if you are interested in pixeling please visit Pixelation. The rest is drawn or painted on paper and scanned, with a few touch-ups in photoshop.

Q: What language is "An Cath do Ghra agus Draoicht"?

A: It's Irish Gaelic and I do know the language, I took classes in it during my one year of college. I find it a wonderful language and I try to keep up with it as much as possible and using it in Shaman was a temptation I couldn't resist.

Q: Can I use you artwork in my project?

A: No. If you want to save some of my work and stick it on your desktop just because you think it's cool or whatever that's fine but do not use my Shaman work in any game project or website. I have in the past made some of my older and just for fun work available for download as royalty free sprites and you can find those here. Those you can use to your heart's content, and if you do drop me a message I'd like to see the game.

Q: What is your policy on Fan Art or Fiction?

A: I love fan art, I have a section of my art site devoted to fan art. If you draw/pixel/write/anything some fan art, let me know and I'll add it to my site. If it's of an "adult" nature I'm sorry but I can't add it to my site because I would like it to stay kid friendly because I do teach an afterschool art class and my students sometimes visit my sites, however still send it to me I'd like to see it anyway. My only requirements are that if you make fan art you must give me credit and you can not use my characters in a game project without asking (and getting) my permission.

Q: I'm a game developer can you make sprites for me?

A: I do sometimes work on commision, please email me (put "game art" somewhere in the subject) and we can discuss the project and payment.
